Google Maps' Street View service captured a nude Taiwanese woman in Hualien City, Taiwan as she lounged just inside a second story apartment window. The scandalous nude shot was spotted last week by a Google maps user and subsequently spread around the Internet, leading Google to quickly obscure the image the morning after. So don't bother trying to find the address on Google Maps. Just in case you are curious, the address is listed on Street View as 62 富裕七街, Hualien City, Taiwan. According to the Taiwanese press, a reporter was sent to the home in question but was unable to get a response from the resident. Understandably so I guess. The residents of the home is now said to be famous because of this incident. By the way, the GPS coordinates to the location of this incident is Lat: 23.9955640 Lon: 121.5936330 if you want to know.
Some believed the pictures of the nude woman was a forgery. And photography software was used to made a fake composite image. But they were wrong. The images are authentic. For a time the web traffic to view surged, Google Maps query for "Hualien City 62 street" and "Hualien City off 55 street' were the top searches. While "Nude woman at a window" was a top search on regular search engines in Taiwan. But many missed the chance to see the candid public nudity from Hualien City because it was removed within hours by Google. Your viewing window goes black when you try to browse down the street and view the address of the naked female. After you pass the location your view is then restore.
Many Internet users in Taiwan criticize Google for this service calling it a serious violation of privacy. Some said people at home being photographed nude by cars on the street then freely circulated on the web is really awful. I am not one to defend Google because I hate the company so much but it is did nothing wrong. Who the hell expect to see from the street a naked woman hang out of a window? Some want to say this is a privacy issue but I beg to differ. What can be seen from in the middle of a public street violate no ones privacy. You can see the woman through her window, no curtain or anything. Why would anyone be standing nude in a window almost climbing out? You would think it must be a whorehouse tactic or something to attract customers. Google did the right thing and obscure the images on the Street View service after it was brought to it's attention. But not before many users saved the images. Some censored versions were even published in Taiwanese newspapers. Click on pictures to enlarge.
